Air raids and the subsequent crash of a Syrian warplane in a residential area in the northwestern town of Ariha on Monday killed and wounded dozens of people, two activist groups said.
The Local Coordination Committees said the warplane crashed in a busy market in Ariha, adding that it was not immediately clear whether the warplane was shot down. Rami Abdurrahman, who heads the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, said the warplane crashed in the center of the town, destroying several homes and killing at least 12 people.
