Aleppo designated as international city under Iran peace initiative
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif's visit to Turkey was cancelled Tuesday, when he had been expected to present the Islamic Republic's recently developed initiative to reach a peace deal in Syria.
According to reports in al-Araby al-Jadeed, the Iranian plan would divide control in Syria between the Assad regime and rebel forces, each holding the territories they currently hold, while Aleppo would fall under international control.
