Hospital: Hunger-striking Palestinian detainee has suffered brain damage

Barzilai Medical Center announced on Wednesday that Palestinian administrative detainee Mohammad Allaan has suffered brain damage after being on a hunger strike for more than two months. The brain damage occurred because of nutrient deficiency, said the hospital, and it was not clear whether the damage was reversible.

The state earlier told the High Court of Justice that it would would immediately release Allaan if he had irreversible brain damage.
