US judge: Palestinians to pay $10M to secure terror verdict

A US district judge in New York City has ordered Palestinian authorities to pay $10 million in cash to secure hundreds of millions awarded to Americans killed in terrorist attacks.

Judge George B. Daniels also said Monday that the Palestinian Liberation Organization and the Palestinian Authority must pay $1 million each month while the case is on appeal. Their attorney declined to comment.

A jury awarded $218.5 million in damages this year in a lawsuit brought by victims and survivors of attacks that killed 33 people and injured hundreds more. That amount was then automatically tripled by the US Anti-Terrorism Act.
