State appeals 'light' punishment given to Jewish arsonists

The State Prosecutor has submitted an appeal to the Supreme Court challenging the relatively light sentences handed down to Nachman and Shlomo Twito, who confessed to and where convicted of setting fire to Jerusalem's bilingual school in November of 2014. The prosecutor's office asked the court to issue a sentence befitting the severity of the crime committed by the brothers.

A Jerusalem district court originally sentenced Shlomo Twito to two years in prison, while his brother Nahman received a sentence of 30 months.
