Egged Taavura's workers to go on strike starting Sunday

Egged Taavura's workers' committee will go on strike starting Sunday, ceasing all of the bus's operations for an indefinite period of time. 

Among the cites and towns that will not have service are Ashdod, Netanya, the settlements surrounding Jerusalem, Kiryat Gat, Kiryat Malachi and Sderot. Intercity lines to Jerusalem, Bnei Brak and Beersheba will also not operate.  The drivers are protesting foot-dragging in negotiations with them the last ten months.

"We apologize to the public for the distress caused," said committee chairman Itzik Kashkash "We looked for ways to advance the negotiations without prejudicing the passengers, such as providing a free rides, but the company preferred to stop the  buses from running themselves and disrupt the passengers' routine rather than making progress in the negotiations. "
