Nationalist and pro-Kurdish opposition given Turkish cabinet posts

Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu named an interim power-sharing cabinet on Friday, appointing one nationalist and two pro-Kurdish opposition politicians to ministerial posts, but leaving his finance and economy ministers unchanged.

Tugrul Turkes, son of the founder of the nationalist opposition MHP, was named as one of four deputy prime ministers. Ali Haydar Konca and Muslum Dogan, members of the pro-Kurdish HDP, were named EU minister and development minister respectively.

Feridun Sinirlioglu, who had served as undersecretary at the foreign ministry, was named as the country's new foreign minister. Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek and Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekci both retained their existing roles.
