Court rejects petition by convicted former MK

The High Court of Justice on Monday rejected a petition by former Balad MK Said Naffaa, who was convicted of illegally traveling to an enemy state, helping others illegally travel to an enemy state, and contact with a foreign agent. He was sentenced to 12 months in prison. Naffaa, who was a member of the 17th Knesset, was accused of having helped arrange travel by Druze religious figures to Syria in 2007, despite the Ministry of the Interior's refusal to approve the trip for security reasons.
