Worldwide Tehilim

WIZO Mexico hopes to create worldwide 'Psalms chain'

Zionist women's organization is calling on Jews to join international Psalms readings during the Days of Awe between Yom Kippur and Rosh Hashana.

The Mexican branch of WIZO (Women's International Zionist Organization) is organizing a "Tehilim (Psalms) Day" ahead of the Jewish Days of Awe, the ten-day period between Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur.

As part of WIZO's 95th anniversary, WIZO Mexico (which is, itself, celebrating its 75th year) is inviting Jewish people of different countries to join a worldwide "Psalms chain" – via social media, email, or other internet outlets.

"We're one big family, and we all share the same peaceful wishes for Israel," explained the event's promoters, adding that its aim is to create unity, empathy, and connections that cross social, racial, and cultural borders.

"One day, all together, one Tehilim, for Am Israel (the Israeli people)," say WIZO Mexico's promos for the event, which they hope will "spark light in thousands of people".
