Israeli in 3rd at rhythmic gymnastics championships

Neta Rivkin in third place at the world championships in Germany, hopes to compete at upcoming Olympics in Rio.

Israeli Neta Rivkin finished Monday in third at the rhythmic gymnastics world championships in Stuttgart, Germany with an exceptional score of 17.783 points with her hula-hoop and ball routines.

 

 

Her final ranking will be determined Tuesday at the conclusion of the competition.

Rivkin's placement in Stuttgart will determine her future as a possible Olympic competitor at the upcoming games in Rio de Janeiro. She hopes to be the first Israeli to compete in three consecutive Olympic Games in rhythmic gymnastics.

 

Rivkin finished Monday in third place after two women from the Russian team, including current world champion Yana Kudryavtseva, finished with 18.933 and 17.833 points respectively.

 

 Victoria Pilnovski, another member of the Israeli squad, ranked seventh on Monday with a score of 17.266. Pilnovski is hoping to make Rio her first visit to the Olympic Games.
