Herzog, Lapid, Edelstein urge Brazil to accept Israeli ambassador appointment
Knesset speaker Yuli Edelstein, opposition leader Isaac Herzog and Yesh Atid Chair Yair Lapid each seperately contacted Brazil's ambassador in Israel Tuesday, urging the Brazilian government to approve the appointment of Dani Dayan as Israel's ambassador to Brazil.
Dayan's appointment recently ruffled feathers in Brazil due to his strong ties to West Bank settlements.
"We don't agree with Dayan, but he will be an excellent ambassador," Lapid told the Brazilian ambassador.
