Erdan to Netanyahu: Let us publicize police commissioner nominee’s name

Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan announced on Saturday that he will officially nominate Shin-Bet deputy commander R’ to the position of Israel police commissioner on Sunday.
The minister said, through his official Twitter account, that he has asked Prime Minister Netanyahu to allow the publication of R’s full name, ahead of discussions regarding his nomination. The publication of in-service Shin-Bet member’s names is generally forbidden by law, with the organization’s head being its only public face in recent years.
