Transportation Ministry: Deri isn’t acting according to law
Sources in the Ministry of Transportation responded to the Ministry of Economic Affairs’ ordering the halt of Saturday construction work on the fast train line to Jerusalem, releasing this statement: “The Ministry of Economic Affairs, headed by Minister Deri, is the sole body responsible for approving needed work on Shabat. If Minister Deri wants to shake his responsibility, as he has in other areas, he must do through organized and official means, not by attempting to change protocols unilaterally, and in ways that are opposed to both the law and proper conduct.”
