IDF sends message of calm to Palestinians: "Israel is not interested in escalation"

Major General Yoav (Poli) Mordechai, coordinator for activities in the territories, told Palestinian media today that Israel is not interested in escalating the security situation in the West Bank and that it will maintain the status quo on the Temple Mount. Mordechai emphasized that the police canceled the restrictions that had been placed on Palestinians during the recent holidays.
