A policeman was lightly wounded in his leg near the West Bank settlement of Ofra after police signaled a car with Israeli license plates to stop for a routine check. The vehicle slowed down but after a few meters sped back toward the officers, one of the officers fired at the vehicle but the suspect vehicle continued driving and stopped a few hundred meters further and the driver fled on foot towards the village of Silwad.

Police and military forces are combing the area to locate the driver and the vehicle is being examined
