Abbas blames Israel and the inaction of the international community for current uprising

Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas said in a speech to the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva that "the violations by Israel in the Palestinian territories caused the current uprising among angry young men. This is the inevitable consequence of what the PA had previously warned about and the outcome of the international failure to remove the injustice from the Palestinians ".
