Palestinian arrested for social media incitement has detention extended by a month

The Akko District Court has extended the detention of Anas Khatib by a month. Khatib, a resident of Shefa-Amr, was arrested and indicted for incitement on Facebook.

Khatib's lawyer claims that the case contravenes freedom of speech. "The purpose of this continuing detention is to deter Israel's Arab society from using social media in order to support their own people."
