The Palestinian Health Ministry announced on Friday evening, that an eight month Palestinian baby had died as a result of tear gas inhalation following clashes between IDF forces and Palestinians in the village of Beit Fajer near Bethlehem. Earlier on Friday, a Palestinian terrorist approached a group of border policeman and began chasing one of them with stone in hand. An additional unit of border policemen saw the emergent threat and gave chase hitting the fleeing terrorist with their jeep. The team's commander then exited the vehicle and struck the man, neutralizing him. He is reportedly in critical condition, and no Israeli troops were injured in the clashes. Another border policeman was later filmed spraying pepper spray at a Palestinian journalist.
Another man was apparently injured as a result of a stray bullet. He was evacuated to Hadassah Mount Scopus hospital with a bullet wound to his lower body. The terrorist was shot by policeman and security guards, he was reportedly in serious condition, and later died of his wounds at the hospital.
An hour earlier, two terrorists attempted to stab a group of border police troops at Tapuach Junction. The two, who arrived at the scene on the back of a motorcycle, were shot by a border policewoman. One of the terrorists was killed, while the other was in critical condition. The area was closed to traffic after the attack, and marked the first time that terrorists had used a motorcycle to conduct an attack. Both of the terrorists were armed with knives and attempted to stab the group, who were quick to realize the threat.
