Palestinian from Abu Dis arrested on suspicion of aiding terrorist attack in Jerusalem at beginning of October

Cleared for publication: Jerusalem Police and the Shin Bet have arrested a Palestinian resident of Abu Dis on suspicion of planning the terrorist attack on Hagai Street in Jerusalem over the Sukkot holiday that killed Rabbi Nehemia Lavi and Aharon Bennett.

The suspect assisted the attacker, Muhand Halabi, in planning and carrying out the attack and accompanied him throughout that Saturday, which ended with the terrorist murdering Bennett and Lavi.

According to the investigation, the suspect for a long time helped Palestinians cross the separation wall from Abu Dis to Jerusalem.

On the morning of the attack the suspect helped Halabi enter Israeli territory without a legal permit.
