Obama arrives in Turkey for G20 summit

US President Barack Obama arrived in Turkey on Sunday for the G20 summit, which is due to largely focus on the battle against terrorism following the attacks in Paris on Friday. The presidential plane, Air Force One, touched down at the coastal Antalya airport shortly before 7am (5am GMT).

Obama Saturday met with the National Security Council on Saturday in order to be briefed on the attacks in the French capital, which killed at least 129 people and wounded 352 others. On Sunday morning, he is due to meet his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Other central topics during the G20 will be the Syrian civil war and the migrant crisis. Following this summet, Obama will set off for Manilla, in the Philippines, and Kuala Lumpur, in Malaysia, to participate in the Apec and Asean summets.
