The great Chinese shopping celebration that is Singles' Day broke world sales records, with $14.3 billion spent around the globe. But some who were interested in the day's special deals were unimpressed with at least one product on offer.
Omer, a frequent online shopper, took advantage of the big Singles' Day discounts and bought wall stickers at a reduced price. However, when he received an email confirming his purchase, he was met with a number of suggestions for other purchases that were supposedly chosen based on his profile. One of them was a latex mask of Adolf Hitler's face.
Omer told Ynet of the incident: "After getting over the feelings of disgust and anger from what I saw, I immediately wrote a complaint email to Aliexpress, about the store that advertises such an outrageous product, adding a screen cap." The store responded to Omer by telling him that the product list which included the mask is not prohibited or supervised. In addition, Omer sent a complaint to the company's Israeli Facebook page, but had not received a reply as of writing.
