Convicted murderer escapes police custody at Assaf HaRofeh hospital
A felon serving a dual life sentence escaped police custody at Assaf HaRofeh medical center overnight, leading police and prison service workers to launch a widespread manhunt across Israel. The man was captured two hours later at the Beer Sheva central bus terminal. Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan ordered the Israel Prison Service to launch an internal investigation into the successful escape.
