Troops foil stabbing attack at Cave of the Patriarchs

Palestinian woman walking towards checkpoint ignored security forces' instructions to stop and was arrested; search of her possession uncovered large kitchen knife she allegedly planned to use in attack.

Border Police and police troops foiled a stabbing attack at a checkpoint near the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron on Saturday afternoon.

The troops noticed a Palestinian woman who was acting suspiciously and instructed her to stop, but she ignored them and continued advancing towards them.

The troops managed to stop the woman and arrest her. When they searched her, they found a large kitchen knife in her possession that she was allegedly going to use in a stabbing attack against the troops.

The 27-year-old woman from Yatta, near Hebron, was taken for questioning.
