US-led coalition targets Islamic State with 31 air strikes

WASHINGTON - The United States and its allies staged 31 air strikes in Syria and Iraq against the Islamic State militant group on Monday, the US military said in a statement.
Twenty air strikes near eight Iraqi cities struck eight tactical units and destroyed several vehicles, buildings and other targets. In Syria, 11 strikes near three cities hit 10 tactical units and other targets, according to the statement released on Tuesday.
