The IDF sentenced a female Palestinian lawmaker to 15 months in prison after convicting her of belonging to an illegal organization and incitement.
Khalida Jarrar was convicted on Sunday, eight months after she was arrested in a raid on her home, for her membership in the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine. She was also convicted of inciting violence by calling for the kidnapping of Israeli soldiers.
Palestinians say Jarrar, who is in her early 50s, was prosecuted for political reasons and that she poses no threat to public safety.
