The show, which will take place at the Live Park in Rishon Lezion on May 22, will be Deep Purple's fifth in the Holy Land since playing live in Israel for the first time in 1991.

Ticket prices for the show range from NIS 690 for the "Golden Ring," NIS 600 for VIP tickets and NIS 290 for the open grassy area.

Since its formation in 1968, Deep Purple has been one of the leading outfits in the rock world, one of the founders of the heavy rock genre, along with Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath. They've released around 20 studio albums and several more compilations and live albums from their shows around the world.

In classic style, the band has broken up and reformed several times, with their last reunion occurring in 1994. Since then they have continued to collaborate, recording albums and going on tour.

Among their most famous hits are "Perfect," "Lalena," "April," Child in Time," "Strangers Highway Star" and, of course, "Smoke on the Water."

Deep Purple's first Israeli show, in 1991, took place at Tel Aviv's Hayarkon Park. Seventeen years passed before they returned for a successful mini-tour in Caesarea and Tel Aviv in 2008 and again in 2011. The band's last show in Israel was at the start of 2014.
