Car bomb explodes at UN base in Mali's Timbuktu
A car bomb exploded Friday outside a UN mission police station in northern Mali, killing at least one Malian soldier and wounding several others, authorities said.
Mission spokesman Olivier Salgado said there were few police at the camp in Timbuktu because they are moving the headquarters closer to the airport. Malian Defense Minister Tieman Hubert Coulibaly said one soldier was killed and three others wounded. In addition, two civilians also were hurt.
