Body found in Petah Tikva apartment in advanced stages of decomposition
A man's body was found in advanced stages of decomposition at an apartment in Petah Tikva on Saturday, while his wife, who was in the apartment at the time, failed to report this to police for an unknown reason.
Petah Tikva Fire and Rescue Services received a call from tenants at the building, who reported smelling a strong, unpleasant odor that was coming from the fourth floor. The firefighters, who found the door locked and received no answer to their knocking, entered the apartment through the window.
An older woman who was in the apartment tried to prevent the firefighters from entering by closing the window, but they were able to enter eventually. They then followed the stench to the bathroom, where they found the man's body.
