Arab League appoints new secretary general

According to Donya Al-Watan, the Arab League confirmed Egypt's candidate Ahmad Abu al-Gheit for Secretary General of the pan-Arab body on Thursday.
Al-Gheit, a former Egyptian Foreign Minister, will replace Nabil al-Arabi.
