Kosovo PM: No citizen has joined extremist groups recently

PRISTINA- Kosovo Prime Minister Isa Mustafa says no Kosovo citizens have joined extremist groups in Syria and Iraq in the last eight months, which he credited to the work of domestic intelligence agencies and their coordination with neighboring countries and international institutions.

Interior Minister Skender Hyseni, however, said Tuesday said some 70 Kosovo citizens are believed to still be active in Islamist groups in Syria and Iraq.

A law passed last year makes it a crime, punishable by up to 15 years in prison, for citizens to participate in armed conflicts outside Kosovo.
