Minnesota man pleads guilty in Islamic State case

MINNEAPOLIS - One of five men due for trial next month for conspiring to provide material support to the Islamic State group has pleaded guilty.

Adnan Abdihamid Farah pleaded guilty Thursday in federal court in Minneapolis to providing material support to a foreign terrorist organization. Three other counts were dropped.

Farah faces up to 15 years in prison but avoided a possible life sentence.

The 20-year-old Farah allegedly communicated with an Islamic State member in Syria.
