Customs officials at the Nitzana crossing at the Egyptian border, and the Shin Bet foiled an attempt to smuggle 4 tons of ammonium chloride hidden in a shipment of salt before Passover, it was cleared for publication. Ammonium chloride is used for the production of long-range rockets, and the amount of the material seized could produce hundreds of rockets.
