Israeli captive's family urges push to mention him in Independence Day celebrations

The family of Avra Mangisto, who is being held captive by Hamas in Gaza, is urging mayors across the country to mention Mangisto during Israel’s Independence Day celebrations.
Mangisto’s family said they “wish to mention him at the beginning of the ceremonies and note the number of days he has been imprisoned—666 days.”
Avra Mangisto has been held in Gaza since September 2014. His story has been linked to racism, with Mangisto’s family claiming that the government would have acted sooner if Mangisto had been of Ashkenazi and not Ethiopian decent.
