PA President Abbas responds to al-Sisi peace statements

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas commented on Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi's statement in support of peace efforts among Israel and the Palestinian Authority Tuesday.
Abbas stated that he is thankful for al-Sisi's readiness to make an effort to achieve peace and establish a Palestinian state, according to international resolutions and the Arab peace initiative. He also mentioned the importance Egypt has in terms of helping to bring about reconciliation among the Palestinians themselves.
Hamas, which controls Gaza, stated that it supports al-Sisi's words regarding inner-Palestinian reconciliation. It ignored the Egyptian President's statements regarding Israel.
