Fire and Explosion at Sri Lankan army camp kills soldier
A fire at an army camp near Sri Lanka's capital reportedly set off explosions, killing one soldier and injuring another
Sri Lankan military spokesman Brig. Jayanath Jayaweera said that after the fire broke out at the Salawa army camp on Sunday, it spread to an ammunition dump, setting off explosions.
Reportedly, the fire started at a small arms depot and then had spread to other depots where heavy weapons such as artillery shells were stored. Residents living within one kilometer of the camp have been asked to evacuate.
