Al-Momani said that the GIS offices in the Baqa’a refugee camp were hit by a terrorist attack just before 7 AM on Monday.

Al-Momani also told “Hala Akbar”, an army radio station, that the attack on the first day of Ramadan represents a clear deviation from the Islamic faith and the blood of Jordanians "Whose blood was spilled to protect Jordanians."

Al-Momani further stated that the security services are pursuing the attackers and investigating the circumstances of the attack.

He added that Jordanians stand together in confronting attempts to harm their security forces and that these attacks will only increase the cohesion of Jordanians in fighting "evil forces".

Jordan is considered a peaceful country which typically is not the subject of terror attacks. The last attack occured in 2005 when three suicide bombers killed 60 people.

This is a developing story
