Egypt says flight data recorder of doomed plane recovered

CAIRO- The Egyptian investigation committee says the flight data recorder of the EgyptAir plane that crashed last month killing all 66 people on board has been recovered from the Mediterranean Sea.

The committee said in a statement Friday that the vessel searching for the wreckage pulled the recorder from the Mediterranean Sea, a day after recovering the cockpit voice recorder. The two were tucked into the plane's tail.

The EgyptAir Airbus A320 was flying to Cairo from Paris when it crashed on May 19 between the Greek island of Crete and the Egyptian coast.
