‘Google of the Bible’ launches after five-year development
15 million NIS were invested in the project, which will provide comprehensive information and content on the Bible.
A new project aiming to provide optimal online access to the Bible was launched last week. The project, called Google of the Bible, has taken five years and NIS 15 million to create.
Google of the Bible holds an enormous wealth of knowledge in both English and Hebrew and includes thousands of items. Its content is due to be translated into five additional languages throughout 2017.

The website was created by Herzog College from the settlement of Alon Shvut. The title of the project was decided on after securing official permission from Google to use its name
In addition to the complete Bible text, the site offers a comprehensive search engine, biblical-era maps that can be compared to contemporary satellite pictures, thematic cross-references, an exhaustive terminology index, biblical idioms and contextual information, various commentary, articles, videos, teaching curriculums, literature and artwork.
The project was developed by a team of experts, including biblical scholars, Bible aficionados, academics, rabbis and artists. It can be accessed through http://www.hatanakh.com/en
