Convicted former PM Ehud Olmert goes on first vacation from prison

Former prime minister Ehud Olmert, who was was convicted on charges of bribery and corruption and sentenced to six years in prison, was granted a vacation from prison on Monday.

 

Omert served as the prime minister of Israel between 2006-2009 before stepping down, following the threat of criminal charges and the rise to power of then-foreign affairs minister Tzipi Livni in his own party of Kadima.
