US Senate report: State Dept. funds reached Israeli V15 campaign

A special report by the US Senate indicated that US tax dollars were used to fund the V15 campaign, whose stated goal was to prevent the reelection of Benjamin Netanyahu as Prime Minister in the latest Knesset elections, held in March 2015. The report does not accuse the Obama administration of any legal violations in this regard, but pointed to a certain careless attitude the State Department had when not bothering to check where the funds ultimately ended up.

The State Department transferred $349,000 to Kol Echad, an organization that works to promote peace between Israel and the Palestinians, but the money was eventually ended up in V15, which is a sister organization of Kol Echad.
