US Air Force in the Pacific gets new top commander

JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR-HICKAM- A fighter pilot and former US Air Force commander in South Korea has taken over as the top US Air Force leader in the Pacific.
Gen. Terrence O'Shaughnessy assumed command of Pacific Air Forces during a ceremony on Tuesday.
Adm. Harry Harris of the US Pacific Command praised O'Shaughnessy for his "strong and measured responses" to North Korean leader Kim Jong Il when he led the US 7th Air Force in South Korea.
