IDF clarifies that soldiers are allowed to march in Jerusalem Gay Pride parade

Following Ynetnews coverage, the IDF Spokesperson's Unit issued a statement, saying that soldiers are permitted to participate in Gay Pride events, including the upcoming Jerusalem Pride parade, as long as they are out of uniform, off duty and do not make any politically-affiliated statements.

Earlier Wednesday, Ynet reported that the IDF had issued a directive forbidding its soldiers from taking part in Pride parades, which the army considers "political events." the directive drew a great deal of criticism from gay IDF soldiers and their supporters.
