US state department issues criticism over Israeli construction in West Bank

US State Department condemns Israel's continuing "pattern of provocative and counterproductive action" and says it is deeply concerned by reports that Israel plans additional 323 units in East Jerusalem.

The state department also expressed concern over "recent demolitions of Palestinian structures in the West Bank and East Jerusalem." It further cited "steady acceleration of settlement activity" tht it says undermines possibility of a two-state solution.
