US general says 5 US troops wounded in Afghan fighting
A senior US commander stationed in Afganistan said Thursday that five US special operations troops were wounded in combat with ISIS fighters in the country's eastern region.
Gen. John Nicholson, the top commander of US and NATO forces in Afghanistan, said the five were hit by small arms fire or shrapnel during a combat operation conducted with Afghan special operations forces in the eastern province of Nangarhar.
