Parole board grants request of bank embezzler Eti Alon for early release

The Israel Prison Service's parole board decided to grant the request for early release of bank embezzler Eti Alon on Thursday morning.

 

Alon stole NIS 254 million from the Israeli Bank of Commerce, causing its collapse in 2002, to cover her brother's gambling debts. She was sentenced to 17 years in prison, and has served 14.5 years. She is still due to pay a fine of NIS 5 million.
