AG says moving Amona to nearby lands is a heavy legal issue

Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit held a meeting Sunday regarding a recent recommendation by the commission in charge of the regularization of settlement outpost Amona. The commission is recommending that the controversial outpost, ruled to be illegally built, be removed and re-established in a nearby area defined as an abandoned asset.
The AG said that the case involves several complex legal issues, among them considerations of property law and construction law.
Mandelblit said there was no legal blocks to examining the property status of the nearby land, whose owners seem to be unaccounted for at the moment. He said that after the initial inquiries are done, he'd be able to further discuss the issue.
