Prime Minister Netanyahu retracts appointment of new cabinet secretary

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has decided not to appoint David Sharan as cabinet secretary despite announcing in May that he would do so.

Following the decision, Sharan informed Netanyahu that he intended to take a break from government service. Yoav Horovitz will replace Sharan to run the government office while the now-vacant post of cabinet secretary will remain unfilled.
