Israeli judoka Ori Sasson advanced to the semi-finals of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games Friday, after defeating Dutch opponent Roy Meyer by points (wazari).
Sasson, who competes in the men’s 100+ kilogram weight class, will face Tedy Riner of France in the semi-final. Riner is heavily favored to win gold in Rio, having won several world championships in a row and the gold medal in the previous London 2012 Olympics.
