Many Israelis dislike MK Hanin Zoabi of the Joint List party,
usually because of her controversial,
even inflammatory remarks
– mostly regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. It seems that MK Zoabi is also deficient in at least one other way: She is the MK with the shortest attendance record during the latest Knesset session, spending just 112 hours at the Knesset during that period, according to Itai Nathaniel of KnessetRollCall.com, which tracks the MKs’ presence in the Knesset halls in real time.
The MK with the highest attendance record in the summer session is also the member who had the highest attendance in the most recent winter session: Uri Maklev of United Torah Judaism (UTJ), who spent 478 hours in the Knesset building. Among government ministers, the most frequent attendee is Construction Minister Yoav Galant (Kulanu party), followed by Agriculture Minister Uri Ariel and Education Minister Naftali Bennet (both from the Bayit Yehudi party). The three government members with the lowest attendance numbers in the latest session were Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu (Likud party), Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman (YIsrael Beytenu party), and Deputy Education Minister Meir Porush (UTJ).
Other statistics indicate the number of queries the MKs submitted, another mark of their work rate. The two most prolific query submitters for the summer session were MKs Yousef Jabareen (Joint List) and Mickey Levy (Yesh Atid party), each with 110 submissions. They are followed by MK Itzik Shmuli (Zionist Union party) with 93 and MK Dov Hanin (Joint List) with 81. Three MKs neglected to submit even a single query in the last year: Tzipi Livni, Amir Peretz (both of the Zionist Union), and Abdullah Abu Maaruf (Joint List).
