Police to give special posthumous award to terror victim Nahmia Lavi

None

Israel Police Commissioner Roni Alsheikh has announced that a special commemorative award will be posthumously given to Nahmia Lavi, who was killed in a stabbing attack in Jerusalem's Old City in October 2015. Lavi heard the cries for help by Aharon Bennett (who was also murdered in the attack) and his wife Adele, took his gun and ran over to help them, but was then killed by the terrorist.

Neta, Lavi's widow, responded to Alsheikh's announcement by saying, "(Nahmia) did a superhuman thing. It's good to see that the state isn't forgetting (it) and that there is appreciation (for his actions) by the Israel Police."
